Kingston, Jamaica: Zishawn Qureshi fell in love with cricket at a very early age and egged on by his father Mahammad Ahmed Qureshi he has thrown all his energies into developing his craft.
The left hander recently had the benefit of being on the Guyana Amazon Warriors set up during the 2016 Hero Caribbean Premier League (CPL) tournament. Although not playing any of the matches, Qureshi was able to benefit from all the professional training that takes place with a professional franchise and also rubbed shoulders with some top players on the international circuit.
Speaking about his experience he said :”Had an amazing experience training with the Guyana Amazon Warriors. I want to give thanks to our franchise owner Bobby (Dr. Bobby Ramroop) and manager Omar Khan for the opportunity. Also thanks to the coaches for what they have taught me while I was apart of the team. Definitely cannot forget to say thanks to A Square Khan (Ali Khan), Sohail Tanveer, Romain Muniram, Assad Fudadin and and the rest of the team who helped create all these wonderful moments.”
Qureshi will be one of the stars at the upcoming US Open, which takes place at the Central Broward Regional Park on Thanksgiving weekend, November 24 to 27.
He has been involved in the US Open since the inception and continues to improve his cricket, as the quality of the tournament has grown over the years. Such is the growth of the US Open that Qureshi was able to fit in nicely with the Guyana Amazon Warriors set up and is more than likely to return to the franchise for the 2017 CPL tournament.
